I am a Colorado native, raised by my mother in a modest rural home east of Fort Collins. As soon as I graduated from high school I joined the Marine Corps. During that time I served three tours and fought in two theatres. After I was honorably discharged I headed back home to find a new path in life. One day curiosity struck.. and I felt a spark.
My trade school had an old shoddy anvil in the workshop. One day I took a torch to a bar of steel until it radiantly glowed yellow. With a hammer in my hand I laid that bar upon the anvil and struck it. A fire stirred inside of me- It was the first time I had felt purpose since the wars.
I immediately set out to acquire the tools of the trade, a key part of these being an anvil. My search lead me to the front door of my now good friend and mentor, Steve Fontanini, whom has been a Blacksmith for well over 30 some years in Jackson, Wyoming. After apprenticing under him for a time I made my way back home and began building my own shop.
With my shop built, tools and equipment in hand, and the passion for creation in my heart.. I continue my journey in learning and creating works of art and function. Through hammer and hand my work is imbued with my passion and purpose- and it will last generations beyond my time.
